Making A Million

Today in maths we learnt how to make a million. We had to work out how long it would take to write to a million. We had to work in groups I worked with Bridget, Tegan and Holly. The bad thing was that our group didn't work out how long it took actually no one figged it out.

Today at school we are watching the Melbourne Cup.
The three horses I am going for are Purple Moon
Zipping and Sirmion.Our class will be watching the Melbourne Cup at two o'clock.
If your horses that you got comes first second
third and last you get money as a prize.
Three horses have been scrached so far. The Melbourne first started in 1861. It is one of the world's most famous horse races. It was first one by Archer, ridden by J Cutts.

School Camp

Next week grade five six are going on camp to Stradbroke Island. I can't wate! we get to find out our cabins today. I really really won't to get in Bridget and Tegan's cabin. The activities we get to do are swimming and water games, canoeing, rarft building, boomerang making and painting and games and night football. At the end of the week we get to have a talent show.

My favourite animal is a horse because they are fun because you can ride them and go in comps. My favourite tipe of horse is a Suck Scin and Palamino because they are beautiful. My favopurit thing to do on a horse is camp draught and dressarge. My favourite horse in the world is Dusty because he is really kind and really fast. Dusty is a Buck Scin. When I go up to my nanna's place I get to ride him and it is great fun. When I grow up I want have a horse stud of my own. And I also want to be a vet that gets to work with farm anomals. My favourite breed of horse is an Australian Stock Horse because they are really strong and fasty and have alot of enigy. HORSES ARE THE BEST!!!

The Mysterious Box

They opened the box then there was a slurppy noise they sore magnificent coloursthen bang they were sucked up. When they woke up they found themselves in a room that was white. Megan noticed that there was colored boxes every where. David noticed that the boxes had words all over them. Some had exit some had adventure and some had horror.

Of course David wanted to jump into the box with horror written on it. But because Megan was smart she decided to take the box that had exit on it. David and Megan tiptoed very cautiously over to the box then bang! In a flash of smoke and sparks they where back were they had started well at lest they thought they were back in the forest. The two children kept on walking then they saw there parents out in the car looking for them.

David shouted mum Megan shouted mum dad stop but they kept on driving. They walked past a man walking his dog. Megan walked up to the man and said excuse me sir the man totally ignored Megan as if he couldn't’t here her. After a wile Megan and David started to notice that they were not back. They started to run there hearts out back to the box. The box they had come through was now getting smaller and smaller.

They dived through and in a poof of black smoke they were back home in their beds.

Mini Vinnies

This year the grade six seven and grade fives are doing a program called mini vinies. In mini vinies we make teddy bears for the kids in the hospital. WEe make gods eyes that are made out of wool. For the premy babies because they can only see red black and white when they are born. We also draw books for the kids in the hospital. We had a priest come and talk to us about the homeless. We had a teacher talk to us about her trip to africa and about the homeless there and the school she went to.I hope our school keeps on doing this program.

Safety House

This year the grade sixes are doing safety house. My class is prep it is really fun working with them. As a safety house imbasitor I get a yellow badge that shows people in my school that I am a imbassador. This year we have had three alerts. We have to teach the kids the three questions witch are do my parents know were I am can I get help if I need it do I feel safe with this person and it the anser to any of these questions are no that means one no don't go. Safety house is fun!!!

I am reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I like it how the athor discribes the charactors like Dudley that becase how fat his butt is that it saggs over the chair. My favourite charactor is Dobby because it's cute how he talks but I think he is going to die in another book. I have read the first book and I am looking ford to the third book. I am up to page 39. I am looking ford to when he gose into the chamber of secrets. I would love to finish the whole series. These books are really good and are nothing like the movies. Plus I want to see the latest movie it looks good. I cant belive how people get so rapped up with it and dress up and every thig.

My favourite sport is SWIMMING it is the best sport ever. My favourite strokes are Breast-stroke and Backstroke 100m. My swim coach is Mr C He is the best. I am in intermediates we swim for two hours. It is fun!

Reading Response

The BFG

Today I read the BFG by Roald Dahl. I wish that Sophie was cute because to me she is definitely not cute and I would enjoy the story more. This story teaches you that you should not judge people by what they look like. If I were Sophie I would not be scared of everything and make a big fuss of everything. I don't know why the BFG catches dreams. My favourite character is still the BFG because he is kind and smart.

Reading Response

The BFG

By Roald Dahl

Today I read The BFG. This book is really good beacause I like most of the characters in it. But my favourite character is the BFG because he is kind and smart. I liked it when the BFG got back at the Fleshlumpeater by blowing the bad dreams up his nose. I was suprised when I heard that the BFG was half the size of the Fleshlumpeater Giant. I began to think of my Grandpa when they were talking about how big the BFG's hands were. This book is GREAT!!! The BFG uses some weard words like wizzpopper and scrozzcrumber. The BFG remindes me of the dragon out of Dragon Keeper because they both leave out words.

Grandparents Day

On Thursday we had Grandparents Day. It was really nice to be able to show your Grandparents around the school and in your class room. I also got to play in the band on the Trombone. After they had a morning tea with cakes, biscuts and coffe. But the sad thing was that not everybodys Grandparents got to come. But I think all the Grandparents enjoyed the day. But my Grandparents did not get to see my class room. They got to see the new library and they thought it was great. They loved the interactive white board.

In class we are reading Dragon Keeper. This book is really good because I like most of the characters in the story. The story is set in China a long time ago. The story is about a girl named Ping who was a slave but freed by a dragon named Longdansy. They are on a quest to find a dragon egg. This book is long but good.

I am reading The BFG. This book is really good my favourite character is the BFG because he is kind and all his words are really weird. The BFG eats weird things like scrozzcumber which is cucumber and whizzpopper which is soft drink. I think it is funny when ever the BFG has an idea he flaps his ears. The BFG stands for the Big Friendly Giant. At night the BFG goes to peoples houses and catches their dreams with a net and put them in a jar.

Metre on a Page!

Today we had to draw a metre on a a4 peace of paper with a ruler.But the triky bit was that you could not take your pencil of the page. And you had to explane it to Mrs J with out her working out all the lines. So you had to put who many centermetres each line was. The good thing is I DID IT!!!
